Peter Hall
Quality Assurance Manager
Oklahoma Climatological Survey

Peter Hall graduated from Purdue University in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in synoptic meteorology.  He earned his Masters of Science (M.S.) in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in 2004.

Peter is interested in everyday weather.  His favorite part of meteorology is just observing the weather.  He can watch clouds go by, feel the wind, or use cool instruments to let him know what the weather is doing.  When Peter was a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma, he focused on urban meteorology.  He was able to learn how the atmosphere interacts with cities, and would like to continue learning about urban weather.

Meteorology has always interested Peter, but it wasn’t until his eighth grade earth science class that he was able to learn some basics about meteorology.  From that point he continued learning and became more and more interested in weather.

Peter currently works for the Oklahoma Mesonet as a Quality Assurance Manager.  He is part of a team that checks Mesonet data to see if there are any problems with the sensors at all Mesonet sites.  Most times everything is all right, but if there are problems, he lets the Mesonet technicians know.  He also conducts research on bettering the quality assurance procedures.

Peter’s hobbies include bowling, playing and watching baseball, and watching football in the fall.  And, of course, surfing the Internet looking at weather!
