The Sun and Seasons

(presented at the 1999 Earthstorm Science Fair)

My name is John Brown and I am 13 years old. I make straight A's and I play golf and football. My name is Drew Loden and I am also 13 years old. I like to play basketball. Our project was suggested by our teacher because he thought that we'd have interest in it.

Our project is about how the movement of Earth around the sun affects the time of daylight in a day. The conclusion of our science project is that the most daylight occurred in the summer. The least daylight occurred on the winter solstice.

In this project we learned the position of Earth during the different seasons and how solar radiation amounts vary during different times of the year. We would like to do something like the project we have just done because it was fun and interesting. We'd like to learn more about it.
